The Lahore doctors agitation and strikes reflects the serious crisis in which medical field is nowadays.



The qualified doctors at house officer and postgraduate level are paid about one half of the senior driver of an official car driver of any justice of the supreme court and about one third of salary of newly appointed civil judge qualified from third story building located phoney law college with no real attendances.

The MBBS degree of the junior doctors is not recognized and they are given stipends not salaries , later being required under law.

A good definition of whether a practical worker is to be given stipend or salary is that that if does job and duties which no one else does then he is not a student and is to be salaried employee under law . House officers and postgraduates and even student nurses doing night duty deserve salary not stipend.

All trainings in medical arts which used to cost 500 rupees yearly thirty years back now cost 30000 per year to 10 lac per year depending on type of training. Can this cost be recovered via stipends .

In Pakistan medical profession is unhappy , the manhandling of doctors in Punjab in the last strike did not earn any good marks for shehbaz sharif , similarly contrary to expectations medical profession is not too happy with PTI in KPK and numerous court cases testify to that. Till three years back majority of health workers were PTI supporters.

YDA is strong but not well guided missile .They should not block roads and they must not deny emergency treatment .

PMDC and and federal and provincial health ministries and CPSP and most universities giving medical degrees need some governance in the form of Ombudsman which should not be a justice .

Health needs to be made a federal subject in constitution so it can be reformed .

ARY news was running very unfavourable reports about doctors agitation this evening . But what is forgotten is in the governmental controlled medical profession , all recruitment is done by public service commissions and non medical civil servants and all key funds are kept by non medical senior civil servants but doctors as departmental heads are expected to govern . If you have no control over recruitment or funds how can a departmental head deliver services and be accountable .

YDA does not demand things sensibly and some sections of civil servants use them so do political parties.

None amongst PPP thugs went to jail but Dr.Asim with four hospitals did . No senior federal ministry people from civil servants were sent to jail for buying may be better and slightly expensive oxygen but doctors from respectable backgrounds were . One with lung cancer and other with throat cancer are tied to hathkaris still in jail and this was work of justice Saqib nisar , ther next SC CJ to pave way for potohar power group which wants to eat out of new polyclinic building and wanted to remove the rivals , taking suo moto notice from an obscure news item , all planned conspiracy .

Doctors have no where to look to except Army chief and that is a fact . But even in army , other wings take them a bit lightly .

Most media people have no technical wings , today ARY was cursing some doctors about declaring death of some one early who was on ventilator for 15 days in punjab .

There is no future of science or technocrats in pakistan under democracy and under this constitution.
